Recap: ‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 3 episode 1 “The Beast of Wall Street”

Beauty and the Beast season 3 premiered tonight and in case you missed it, here’s our recap:

Previously on Beauty and the Beast:

J.T. (Austin Basis) was hurt, hospitalized but he’s alive. Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) met with Special Agents who need their help to figure out worse threats.

“The Beast of Wall Street”

It’s been two months since Vincent’s has beasted out. Cat and Vincent wake up and cook breakfast together. It is Vincent’s first day back to work at the hospital as Dr. Keller. Cat’s still worried about the new beasts and helping DHS. Vincent wants them to focus on their “normal” life together.

Meanwhile, J.T. faces his first day back as a professor and he’s nervous. At the precinct, Tess (Nina Lisandrello) tells Cat she’s doing everything she can to help J.T. but there’s a limit. Cat says she misses fighting beasts. She thinks maybe she’s supposed to be a part of something bigger.

Cat visits the Special Agents. Agent Barnett (Neil Girvan) shows Cat footage of beasts reeking havoc around the world and it’s happening more often. Cat needs proof in order to get Vincent on board.

Vincent visits J.T. before work and retrieves his mom’s engagement ring. He’s ready to take the next step with Cat.

Meanwhile, Cat is wedding dress shopping with Heather (Nicole Gale Anderson). Heather knows that Vincent is a beast by Cat wants her to keep it secret especially from her fiance.

Vincent has a chaotic first day at New York Gen. Tess meets up with J.T. and tells him it’s a blessing for him to be alive.

Cat and the Special Agents visit Marissa Zane (Charlotte Arnold) who says her husband Tyler Zane (Maxim Savaria) was imprisoned and broke out on his own jumping 60 feet. When they leave, Tyler attacks them and flees.

Vincent is waiting for Cat at — restaurant. He gets a call for an emergency at this hospital. The Special Agents and Cat are the emergency. Vincent shows up and treats Cat’s injuries. Tyler killed Agent Barnett. But Agent Thomas is stil alive. Cat didn’t tell Vincent, as she wanted to protect him. Vincent is able to use his beast senses to properly diagnose Agent Thomas (Arnold Pinnock).

Later, Vincent tells Cat they shouldn’t be risking their lives for beasts and wants them to be a normal couple.

The next day at the precinct Cat’s working on a beast case and confides in Heather that she’s fighting with Vincent. Heather says Cat and Vincent need to get on the same page.

J.T. visits Vincent’s houseboat. Vincent’s not happy that Cat wants to help the DHS. J.T. tells Vincent he’s done a lot of good since he’s been a beast.

The next day at the hospital, Vincent sees Tyler trying to harm Agent Thomas. Vincent chases after Tyler. Cat knows Vincent’s in danger of losing his humanity while trying to stop Zane. Earlier, Zane threatened to blow up his apartment building so Tess and Cat evacuate the building. On the rooftop Zane and Vincent battle each other as beasts. Cat finds them and pleads with Vincent not to kill Zane. Vincent stops.

Later, Cat tells Vincent that Zane is alive. Zane is in a secure medical facility with Agent Thomas. Vincent’s worried about his future with Cat. But Cat knows they can overcome anything if they’re together.

J.T. tells Tess that he got rid of his walking cane and helped Vincent make important decisions.

Vincent tells Cat that he’s not normal even though he wants a normal life. Cat says they’re in this together for a bigger reason and not just for love. Vincent gets down on one knee and proposes to Cat and she says yes!

Beauty and the Beast airs Thursdays at 9/8c on the CW.
