Designated Survivor alum Maggie Q is featured in the June 2018 issue of The Singapore Women’s Weekly.
From the digital issue:
“When I moved to Asia from the US, it was tough for me,” says the 38-year-old, who was born and raised in Hawaii and left as a teenage to pursue modelling and acting in Hong Kong. Maggie adds, “It was a struggle to be a woman in the business, and I was poor, inexperienced and insecure.”
Maggie stands out as an Asian-American actress who’s known for her work in both Hollywood and Hong Kong. She currently plays a tough FBI agent in the Netflix political drama Designated Survivor.
Engaged to actor Dylan McDermott, who costarred with her in the series Stalker,, Maggie is also known for her humanitarian work. A committed vegan, she works with PETA to spread the word against animal abuse. “I can’t tell anyone else what to do, but I don’t eat animals,” she says. “I enjoy my career, but at the same time, we have a responsibility in the public eye to speak about the things we believe can make a difference to the world.”
Designated Survivor recently wrapped season 2 on ABC.
