Closer Weekly‘s April 9, 2018 issue features the truth about Dr. Phil in his own words.
From the digital issue:
The tough-talking no-nonsense daytime TV Host has a softer side at home with his family. His guests never get away with any shenanigans on his hit daytime talk show, but Dr. Phil McGraw, 67 is a complete pushover when it comes to his 8-year-old granddaughter, Avery, and her 6-year-old brother, London. “They get to make anything, and I mean anything, in the kitchen,” he tells Closer.
But that doesn’t mean he’s going to soften up at his day job, where he lays down the law so people who are struggling with a wide range of problems can start to rebuild their lives. “He always says he’s truly honored to be ‘the voice of America’s common sense,” says an insider.
Dr. Phil sets the bar pretty high. “I’ve always thought of myself as a moral compass. I can point people in the right direction,” he says. “I feel like I’m doing a good day’s work when parents have at least an hour a day when they can sit and get some good common sense they can use in their family, their marriage, their life,” he says. “I’m passionate about it.”
Dr. Phil airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
