In Touch Weekly: Jan. 16, 2017 – ‘Flip or Flop’ Divorce Turns Ugly

In Touch Weekly‘s January 16, 2017 issue reports Flip or Flop stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa’s divorce turns ugly.

From the digital issue:

“It’s pretty ironic that Tarek and Christina El Moussa are famous for renovating and building beautiful homes when their own home was crumbling around them,” an insider tells In Touch. The two speak to each other as little as possible, and HGTV is pressuring them to reunite in order to save the show, which generates a huge amount of revenue for the network.

The two were photographed meeting for coffee on December 15th in LA in the wake of their split news, but it was a setup and an attempt to save the show. Christina has a big reason for wanting to go along with he charade. “She wants to cooperate with HGTV because she’s gunning to get her own show,” says a source.

When it came to redo their pool in 2015, they hired Gary Anderson, an older, wealthy and twice-divorced local contractor. “Christina grew close to Gary,” says the source. “Tarek saw Christina’s phone and [believed] there was some inappropriate texting going on between Christina and Gary,” and that’s what led to him, blowing up and storming out of the house with his guns. Although Christina has been seeing Gary, she doesn’t seem ready to settle down. As the divorce gets nastier, it’s clear Tarek and Christina are over for good. “Behind closed doors, they really were a mess,” says the source.
