Dancing With the Stars starlet Amber Rose is featured in the October 2016 issue of Cosmopolitan South Africa.
From the digital issue:
Has Amber Rose always been as confident as she comes across? “No,” she says. “About two years ago, something clicked. And I thought, you know what-I’m gonna do me and if people don’t like it, they don’t have to. It really helped me to have a happier life.”
“I’m a CEO of my own company, and still I’m called a stripper. I’m a talk-show host, and I’m called a stripper,” she says. “It’s so ridiculous.” Rather than giving the world the middle finger and wallowing in self-pity, the 32-year-old is making life a bit sweeter for the sisterhood. “I don’t mind taking the punches for other women,” she says.
It’s tempting to call Amber a role model, she’s all for young women making their own mistakes and learning from them. “Don’t try to fit into society’s norms,” she says. “Just be yourself and do what makes you happy.”
DWTS airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC. Her talk show The Amber Rose Show recently wrapped on VH1.
